Kahyt & Kaffe
Kahyt & Kaffe is a floating café located in an old ferry, where guests gather to drink coffee, eat homemade cakes and enjoy life by the water.
Kahyt & Kaffe is one of the most charming little havens in Copenhagen's Sydhavnen district. The café is housed in a former Swedish ferry, which is now moored in the Skibbroen houseboat harbour, tucked away behind Fisketorvet. As soon as you step on board, you notice the special atmosphere. Here, the calm of the water provides the backdrop, while the hustle and bustle of the city can be felt just nearby.
The place is run by Karin and Peter, who several years ago had the idea of creating a floating café. They have furnished the ferry with warmth, homeliness and a good dose of personality. The cabin serves coffee, homemade cakes, tartlets, open sandwiches and simple but delicious dishes. The menu is tailored to the small kitchen on board and is characterised by good ingredients and a desire to share something tasty with others.
When the weather permits, it is ideal to take your coffee out on deck, where you can sit close to the water and watch life in the harbour. On cool or rainy days, the cabin is a cosy retreat where you can quickly strike up a conversation with the other guests. It is precisely this meeting of people that is an important part of the experience.
Kahyt & Kaffe is not only a café, but also a small cultural venue. There is often live music, events and communal meals, which create a sense of local community. Its location between modern buildings and old houseboats gives the place a very special character.
All in all, Kahyt & Kaffe is a place where you can find peace, cosiness and togetherness – in the middle of the city, yet away from its hustle and bustle.
