Shades by IgenIbrug

Shade by IgenIbrug is a place where old things are given new life and where light takes on a very special meaning. Here you will find handmade lampshades, unique vintage finds, and a warm atmosphere that invites you to explore.

When you step into Shade by IgenIbrug, you can almost feel the wings of history fluttering in the old bricks and the creativity of today in the handmade lampshades. The small shop is located on Bjergegade in Helsingør, in the middle of the pedestrian street, and feels like a secret oasis where nostalgia and modern design meet. The name has a special ring to it here in the city because it combines the word “Shade” with “IgenIbrug” (Reuse), and that's no coincidence – it's about giving new life and light to objects that, at first glance, seem useless.

It all started as a single idea to mix vintage finds with handicrafts and in-house production of lampshades. Today, Shade by IgenIbrug is a store with “the country's largest selection of handmade lampshades,” according to the company. Each shade has its own personality. Some are made of velvet velour in deep colors, others with light transparency and poetic patterns, and all are created with an eye for detail and craftsmanship.

There is also a webshop for those who want good design from a distance, but it is in the store that the charm comes to life. Here you will find vintage interiors and selected artisans alongside newly produced goods with a sustainable focus. There are often new and seasonal items, and at Christmas you can even see a large selection of vintage Christmas decorations from all over Europe.

It feels like exploring a creative treasure chest where light is not just a function, but art and soul.
